The Lady Lions of Wallace St.-Hanceville have finished third at the NJCAA Division I Softball Championships in St. George, UT. Wallace St.-Hanceville sontinued to make a push for a shot at the championship game on Saturday as they faced Pima College. The Lady Lions defeated the Aztecs 5-2. Click HERE to view the game stats.
The victory over Pima put Wallace St.-Hanceville against Chattanooga St. for a shot in the title game against Salt Lake Community College. With the scored tied 2-2 at the end of seven innings, the Lady Lions gave up five runs to the Tigers with two outs to trail 7-2 going into the bottom of the eigth. Wallace St.-Hanceville had their first two batters reach base with singles, but weren't able to do any damage as the next three batters were retired by the Tigers. Click HERE to view the game stats. Chattanooga St. went on the defeat Salt Lake 8-7 and 4-1 to claim the national championship. Wallace St.-Hanceville represented the ACCC well as their only two losses in the tournament were to the national champion.
Michal Robertson, Whitney Brown, Heather Parker and Paige Rowland were selected to the All-Tournament team.
