Bevill State-Fayette Opens with Win

The Bevill State-Fayette Bears opened the 2004-2005 season in style Monday night with a 94-85 victory over host East Central Community College.

The Bears, who lead 53-50 at halftime, was lead by a trio of sophomores including Marcus McLemore with 17 points, Kenard Johnson with 16 points, while teammate Terry Pope contributed 13 points and grabbed a game high 20 rebounds.

Head coach Rick Bolling said, ?We will always take a win on our first game. However, we still have a lot of work to do. The guys did what they had to for a win.?Bevill State-Fayette (1-0) will return to action next Thursday night on the road against East Mississippi Community College. Tip-off is set for 8:00PM.
