It looked like an easy victory over Gadsden State Community College Monday night as the Bears put the Cardinals in their place 84-62.

Bevill State saw four plays score in the double digits, with Mike James leading the way putting 18 points on the board. He went 6-of-8 at the free throw line to help the Bears reach 66.7 percent at the line.

James also led the team in assists with ten, proving once again why he ranks number three in Division I in assists per game.

Mike McKinley was 3-of-4 behind the line, but the Bears struggled, hitting only 6-of-18 attempts at the 3-point range. However, they were 54.1 percent at the field goal line.

Tom Jervis, who put six points on the board, led the defense with five blocks and eight steals. Dauda Fadeyi and Jerry Prudhomme had seven steals each to add to the team total of 40 for the game. Mike James and Jerry Prudhomme had four steals each, followed by Dauda Fadeyi and Jamar Livings who each had two.
