The Lady Bear’s finished the season with an overall record of 19 and 13.
The Bears went into half time holding a one point lead, but saw that disappear as the Lady Lions started raining down a barrage of threes. The run was lead by Natalie Mullins of Wallace State who hit a trio of long range three point shots in a row. She finished the night with 12 points, going 4 of 9 from the three point line.
Bevill States Ashley Martin had to head to the bench around the 10 minute mark in the second half due to foul trouble, and in her absence Bevill State ended up being out rebounded 54 to 40 in the game.
The Bears turned the ball over 19 times giving Wallace State an easy 20 points off turnovers.
In a game when shooting percentage didn’t matter, getting to the free throw line did. Wallace went 24 of 31 from the line compared to Bevill States 13 of 18.
For the Lady Bears, Re’Nate Lopez continued to carry the team offensively finishing the night with 20 points, and managed to go 8 for 9 from the free through line.
Briana Thomas and Dione Parks each chimed in with 10 points.
Indya Mudd led the team in rebounding with 11, and Martin, despite foul trouble, still managed to grab 10 rebounds.
The Lady Bears should be in good shape next year, as all players on this years squad will return for their sophomore season. The Lady Bears should be represented tomorrow when the ACCC All Region awards are announced after the championship game.
