For the first time since 1980, Gadsden State's mens tennis team captured the Region 22 title. The Cardinals finished the tournament with 13 points to Marion Military Institute's 9 points. Going into the doubles finals, Gadsden State had split the singles points with Marion, but still trailed the Tigers by one point. Gadsden State swept the doubles to clinch the title.The two teams had split their regular season matches and the tournament was a display of very competitive play.
