When U.S. Ryder Cup team Captain Tom Lehman and his team tee it up at the 2006 Ryder Cup in Ireland this week, students at colleges and universities across the country will benefit from their play.
Each U.S. Ryder Cup team member, including the Captain, designates $100,000 to the school(s) of their choice in support of the Golf: For Business & Life program.
On behalf of the 2006 U.S. Ryder Cup Team member Brett Wetterich, The PGA of America is donating $100,000 to Wallace State Community College - Hanceville to help fund the Golf: For Business & Life program at the school.
?I am a Wallace State alumni so I am giving my money to that school with hopes that it will help students get into the game of golf with the business aspect that can assist them the rest of their lives,? U.S. Team member Brett Wetterich said.
?We are especially proud of Brett Wetterich and his outstanding success as a professional golfer,? said Wallace State President Vicki Hawsey.?We are humbled and pleased that, as an alumnus of Wallace State, Brett has chosen to contribute $100,000 to Wallace State Community College ? Hanceville. He is a shining example of the tradition of excellence that Wallace State is known for. We also commend Wallace State golf coach Dan York for his ability to select promising young men for our golf program and to develop them, their talents and abilities to the highest levels.?
