L.B. Wallace
Lurleen B.Wallace Community College is the result of the consolidation of two fine institutions – Lurleen B. Wallace Junior College and Douglas MacArthur State Technical College. LBWCC has three campuses located in Andalusia, Greenville, and Opp. Our service area consists of Butler, Coffee, Covington, Crenshaw, and Geneva counties, but interested students from any locale are welcome. LBWCC’s educational opportunities include Transfer Programs to four-year colleges and universities, two-year Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, and Associate of Applied Science degrees, Career/Technical Programs, and Workforce Readiness Certificates. Scholarships are available! Enrollment at the college is approximately 1400 students so classes are small providing the opportunity to build productive relationships with instructors and other students. Classroom instruction is backed by excellent learning resources, such as libraries and computer labs, and many services provided through the Office of Student Affairs. Qualifying students may also seek support and guidance through the federally-funded Student Support Services and Upward Bound programs. The Martha & Solon Dixon Center Theater, on the Andalusia Campus, host a number of plays and musical performances throughout the year, including works from our own Drama Department and the LBWCC Ensemble. Artists from LBWCC and the community exhibit their works in the Art Gallery. Athletic and recreation facilities at LBWCC include beautiful nature trails, a nine-hole golf course, lighted tennis courts, softball field, baseball field, gymnasium, and a fitness center. Our intercollegiate teams compete in softball, basketball, and our baseball team is nationally ranked. Whether you are planning to continue your education at a four-year college or university, or enter the workforce, upon completion at LBWCC you will be prepared for the next phase of your life.
