John Douglas - 1989
John Douglas, a native of Leighton,
Alabama, was born on June 12, 1956. He graduated fro Colbert County High School
in 1974. He was an All-State 3A player from Colbert County. He attended J.C.
Calhoun State Community College fro 1974-1976. While at Calhoun, he averaged
19.2 points per game. His top single game score was 41 points. John made
All-Region both years
After graduating from Calhoun in 1976, he
attended the University of Kansas from 1976-1978. While at Kansas, John
averaged 18.9 points per game where he was the leading scorer as a junior. He
broke Wilt Chamberlain’s record for the most points scored in a road game – 46
points. In 1976-1977 he led Kansas in steals. After leaving Kansas, he was drafted by
the New Orleans Jazz of the NBA. He later played in the Continental League
before playing with the San Diego Clippers for a year. He then went to Italy
for two years with the Fortitudo Team in Bologna, Italy. He is now playing for
the professional team in Reims, France.

ACCC HALL OF FAME
he played at Calhoun. He played in the first junior
college All-Star game in Texas in 1975-1976 where he represented the East
Squad.
