The Lady Pioneers placed 5th in the ACCC Region XXII championship winning 36 out of 56 spring season games. Entering her 10th season as head coach at Jefferson State, along with 3rd year assistant Lamar Butts, the coaching staff looks forward to another successful season. The team worked hard this past fall and played a tremendously competitive schedule. УI love the competition in the fallФ, Coach Hallmark states. УPlaying the 4 year institutions builds confidence and makes the team stronger in the spring. I was extremely impressed with our freshmen pitchers talents at that level.Ф The Lady Pioneers returning sophomores and a strong support of new freshmen are working hard to continue the winning tradition at Jefferson State. Sophomore pitchers Robin Smith and Emily McConnell bring their talents and experience back to the mound for the Lady Pioneers. The Pioneers boast 4 freshmen pitchers, Ali Byrnes ЦWashington State, Christina Smith ЦBoaz AL, Holly Cleveland Ц Thorsby, AL and Misha McCormick Ц Athens, AL. Sophomore first base Lindsey Creighton, second base Heather Clements and third base Jenni Norman will return their strengths and talents to the infield. Sophomore JoDee Johnson will return as starting catcher behind the plate. Ashley Maddox and Jessi Norman will once again be an impact in the outfield. Along with this sophomore group, the speed and agility of the freshmen class will be a strong asset to this team.
